Art & Literary Magazine

Meets on Mondays in the library.
Creates, collects and publishes creative writing, drawing, painting, and other art in a magazine once a year.

Best Buddies

Fosters one-to-one friendships between middle school students with and without IDD (Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities), in which they share interests, experiences, and activities. Students with IDD are often isolated and left out of social activities. Best Buddies Middle Schools helps to create an inclusive middle school culture for all students early on in their educational development.

Bridge

Meets on Monday & Wednesday after-school beginning Wednesday, October 1, 2018 thru Wednesday, May 29, 2019. High School students volunteer to serve as a "Bridge" between high school & middle school. Each "Bridge" student works with individuals or small groups of 6th-8th graders as a tutor/mentor.

The Card Game Club

Math Counts

The MATHCOUNTS Competition Program provides the extra incentive and the perfect atmosphere for students to push themselves to achieve more in mathematics. Consisting of fun and creative problems that promote critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, the MATHCOUNTS competitions have written and oral rounds, as well as individual and team components. Though challenging and non-routine, the competition problems focus on the 6th through 8th grade standards of the National Council of Teachers in Mathematics.

MATHCOUNTS will meet weekly on Monday in room A-103 starting on Monday, October 15, 2018

Sign Language Club

Meets on alternating Wednesday in room B-200 starting on October 12, 2018.

Sign Language Club is a "hands on" Club focused on learning American Sign Language including the Alphabet Songs, common words and phrases--we play games and have fun by learning this unique language.

Video Game Club

Meets on Monday in room B-105

During Video Game Club students play on the computers, chat with friends (communication is an intrical part of this club), have snack and play video games. Students are encouraged to bring in their own portable gaming system such as a DS. If they do have one there are plenty of games I provide for the club.

In addition, we play social games such as Apples to Apples, Simon Says and Four Corners. The ultimate goal is to provide a safe place for the students to go where they can play games, meet other students and have fun.

Writers' Block

The Writers’ Block will be held in Guidance from 3:15-4:20 every Thursday starting on September 20, 2018. Its purpose is to give students an opportunity to polish essays, develop their writing skills, and ask any questions they may have about the writing process.
